Grok Bot can now post on X for you. Here's how to use it without turning into a spam account

People on X are showing off posts their Grok Bot wrote and published for them. Here is a quick guide to try it while you stay in charge of what goes out.

The short version: some Grok Bot users can now have their Bot draft a post in chat and publish it to their own X account after they tap Post. It's handy for sharing updates you keep putting off, as long as you read every draft first.

What real people are doing:

  • Alex's first one was simple: "Hello from Grok Bot, I posted this for Alex because I can post on X for you now."
  • Nikodem gave his Bot one rule, and the Bot said so in its own post: "nothing goes out without his 'ok'."
  • Time Traveler says Grok Bots "schedule and manage my wallpaper posts" every day, while he still writes his own replies.
  • AGI Hunt reported the flow being tested: the Bot drafts a post or reply in chat, you tap Post, and drafts can be copied or thrown away in one tap.

Set it up in 5 steps:

  1. Connect your X account in Grok Bot if it asks you to.
  2. Ask in plain words, like "Draft a short post about my garage sale Saturday, friendly, no hashtags."
  3. Read the draft and fix it with follow-up messages until it sounds like you.
  4. Tap Post only when you'd be happy to have your name on it.
  5. Tell your Bot "never post without my OK," and if it says it can't post for you yet, ask for a ready-to-post link that opens X with the text filled in.

Watch out for:

  • It's new and showing up for some people first, and it isn't in the official Grok Bot changelog yet, so your app may not have it.
  • Everything it posts goes out under your name, so a wrong fact or odd joke is on you, not the Bot.
  • Not everyone loves it. One user worried that "we've had enough automated spam already," so post things worth reading and say when a Bot helped.
  • Skip the autopilot for touchy stuff like politics, money tips or replies to strangers, and keep those in your own words.
